Youth Advisory Board

We are immensely proud to share the impactful collaboration between our Youth Advisory Board, comprised of some of our dedicated Junior Assistants, and esteemed partners from the City of Cincinnati Manager's Office and Cincinnati Children's Hospital.

Last month, our Youth Advisory Board had the honor of meeting with representatives from the City of Cincinnati Manager's Office and Cincinnati Children's Hospital to address the pressing issue of gun violence in our community. This crucial discussion aimed to explore proactive strategies to minimize and prevent gun violence, with a focus on empowering youth voices in the decision-making process.

Our Junior Assistants brought valuable perspectives and insights to the table, sharing their concerns and ideas for creating safer communities for themselves and their peers. Through thoughtful dialogue and collaboration, they engaged in meaningful discussions about the root causes of gun violence and potential interventions to address this complex issue.

We commend our Youth Advisory Board members for their courage, leadership, and commitment to making a difference in our community. By actively participating in discussions with key stakeholders, they are demonstrating the power of youth voices in driving positive change and advocating for a safer future for all.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the City of Cincinnati Manager's Office and Cincinnati Children's Hospital for their partnership and dedication to addressing gun violence collaboratively. Together, we are working towards a safer, more inclusive community where every young person can thrive without fear of violence.

Mayor’s Career Expo

We're excited to share a recent opportunity our Junior Assistants had to explore potential career paths and gain valuable insights into the workforce at the Cincinnati Mayor's Career Expo.

Held at the Duke Energy Convention Center on February 24th, the Mayor's Career Expo provided a platform for local employers to connect with over 1200 high school seniors, recent graduates, and college students from the Cincinnati area. Organized in collaboration with the Cincinnati Recreation Commission’s Y2WK program, the event aimed to bridge the gap between students and employers, offering opportunities for seasonal, part-time, and full-time employment.

Our Junior Assistants had the chance to engage with a diverse range of employers, learning about various industries and the skills needed to succeed in today's workforce. From onsite interviews to networking opportunities, the Expo provided a structured and safe environment for our students to explore their career interests and aspirations.

We're incredibly proud of our Junior Assistants for actively participating in this event and taking proactive steps towards their future career goals. By immersing themselves in this invaluable experience, they have gained invaluable insights and inspiration that will undoubtedly shape their academic and professional journeys.

We extend our gratitude to the organizers of the Mayor's Career Expo for providing such a valuable opportunity for our students, as well as to our supporters for enabling us to participate in events that empower our youth to thrive in the workforce.
