S.T.A.R. Club

S.T.A.R. stands for Science, Technology, Arithmetic, and Reading; A free two-hour program on Saturday mornings that provides students with a hearty breakfast and one-on-one tutoring with a volunteer. STAR Club was created to provide a safe place for students to receive academic support on the weekend and connect with positive adult influences.
After breakfast and fellowship (10:30), students work one-on-one with a volunteer tutor, focusing on reading for 30 minutes, and math for 30 minutes. This is usually followed by a craft or enrichment activity and time outside at the park until 12:30. The one-on-one instruction S.T.A.R. Club provides is transformative for many students as they pursue their educational goals.
